The IEP team must consider the use of positive behavior interventions and supports.

This behavior has or will likely have a significant effect on the learning of the student or other students, so it needs to be addressed and IDEA requires the IEP team to consider positive behavioral interventions and supports as one possible approach to addressing the behavior [1414(d)(3)(B)(i)].  At least one other approach or method must also be considered alongside PBIS.

The tool currently only includes the federal requirements. Federal requirements apply in all states and states may add on (but not subtract) from the Federal laws.
